MEDIA ADVISORY
What: Kaka’ako United (KU), a group of concerned citizens dedicated to ensuring
the quality of an integrated Kaka’ako community from mauka to makai, is
marching to bring Kaka’ako’s concerns to the Capitol. They want to tell legislators Kaka’ako is not being built according to
community plans; instead, is being destroyed by the Hawaii Community
Development Authority (HCDA), the state agency responsible for “fast and
furious” approvals of Kaka’ako development projects. The Legislature will be hearing from KU and other
communities at the Hawaii Alliance rally in the Capitol Rotunda that follows
the march.
When: 8:30 am – 11:00 am, Wednesday January 29, 2014. The march will begin at
8:30 am and join the rally at 10 am in the Capitol Rotunda.
